1) if you are new to williamson you MUST download "A few things to hear before we all blow up" which is simply great.

2) i am am giving lower star grades to albums generally as an attempt to better indicate to readers as i feel we are all using 8, 9 and 10 too much and it is not useful.

SO 7/10 = good album, which this is. I'd almost give it 8 but...

this album is only an EP, so shorter in material, some of the songs are less full of detail and some have a more down feel to them.

Some tunes are, by contrast, as good as the songs on his other album.

Williamson offers "listening music". The intention that you will listen and re-listen hearing new details and allowing your mind to wander through the layers in the music. - perhaps alone in your room with something burning.

this album has 60% + of tunes with those qualities and some which as i said before are slightly more 'down' in mood (good for some people like the moody teenager) and some which lack the detail heard in his other album.

Its tough because "a few things to hear before we all blow up" has grand qualities of layers, details, stronger melodies and such - so this album is standing next to a giant.

It is however still very very good and not something anyone else is doing - quite unique and great.

i should perhaps give it 8 or 9 but this is the new tough grading scheme and 7 still = good album ;)

Very Good music.Coming as if from the deep of the bottom of the distant ocean.Wherever have many colored amazing fishs. But for me the album is many trippy not downtempo.Stay cool and happy.

What we have here is a very nice collage of ambient, post-rock and electro influences. From the first second of the first tune, sietch kids save us one knows the record is produced neatly. Engaging guitar loops overlap sometimes electronic, sometimes organic melodies giving really nice and atmospheric mixture. My favorite track of the ep is tips for sweet-talking a caribou, which is really cool, not only in production but also in its cold atmosphere! You can sense the North of Canada and of these caribous for real!!! ;-)
I cannot find a weak point in this record’s music. Maybe it’s a little bit blurry if one wants something less ambiental, but I quite like such style, so it’s 10 for me. From the other reviews I’ve heard that Williamson’s previous record is even better, so I can’t wait to get it and to listen to it.
The only drawback is a cover that looks more like some gothic band album rather than ambient or idm one. One point down for that, so it’s nine, but it’s still an amazing and very recommendable piece of music. Check it out!!! It’s worth it.

Stay cool,

Wow! I bought this album a few weeks ago, and now I find it here! What a pleasant surprise :)

I have to say this is in the pure Williamson style. Layered, meditative, rhythmic and relaxing music. Details are everything.

I really enjoy this music. And if you liked this album make sure you listen to "A few things to hear before we all blow up".

This album indeed looks a bit sketchy in comparison to the previous one, but it's all good anyway :)
