Describe your album

Mathias Klingers 'Songs and Wrongs' is his first album released under the Togeo Music independent record label. Songs and Wrongs is Mathias' first solo album away from the rock band Cheap Thrills where he is their current bassist.

The album features eleven progressive rock styled tracks completely written, composed and produced by 'Der Basser' himself and drawing heavily up his influences. Mathias programmed the drums and synths as well as playing  bass and lead guitar on all the tracks. He is also performing the vocals on the song 'Inside Your Eyes'.

Togeo Studios - Free Music, Audio Loops and Samples, VSTi Presets, Ableton Live Resources, Forum.

i guess its ok but it needs to end better

I thought I was going to love this album. In the first track the drum programming was tight. The synth hit all the right notes. It gave me goosebumps even.

But the lead guitars ruined it for me. The guitar sounded more like aimless noodling merely filling up space. Such tracks as "Arktis" and "Mantra", which were otherwise very interesting, suffered because of this. I think the same could be said for the synth solo in "Droids Talk". The guitar actually seemed to work in this piece.

Don't get me wrong. When it comes to the basis of many of these songs, I think the work is brilliant. Many songs have a cool 90's King Crimson like vibe going for them.

I think it would do these songs well to let them breathe a bit. Open space doesn't always need to be filled. Put soul into a few notes rather than trying to pull of the uber-solo. I think the result would be more rewarding to the listener.

Eisfeld sounded was a nice track which just was in need of another take. The execution was not all there. I didn't care much for the vocal track.

The music is close to being amazing, yet so far away. There are only a few elements ultimately holding the music back. I look forward to seeing what you will produce in the future. Thanks for sharing!
