Describe your album

The Dreamer's Paradox is the second album by JT Bruce. It shows a strong maturation and development of the style and tone achieved by Anomalous Material, resulting in increased production quality, compositional strength, and diversity. Fans of Anomalous Material will undoubtedly enjoy this release, but the album's depth and scope will also appeal to a much wider audience of varying musical tastes. Backing vocals are featured in one track and spoken words in another.

Being a concept album, the Dreamer's Paradox prominently features recurring musical themes, acting as characters in a musical drama. The evolving and subtle themes interact with one another and are revisited throughout the album's length, creating the progress and mood akin to the telling of a story.

The albums total running time is 74 minutes 22 seconds.

I started using jamendo today, somewhat skeptical that people making free music as a hobby could make anything worthwhile.

Nevertheless, I headed straight for the progressive and metal sections and found your album. I downloaded it, expecting an "ok" album with basement production, but I was blown away! You sound like what would happen if Liquid Tension Experiment had continued and evolved. This album totally gave me hope for free, independent artists and music. Keep up the great work!

The first album I downloaded when I came to this site was Anomalous Materials, JT Bruce's first offering and suffice to say I was blown away!

But I couldn't have imagined the quality and musicianship present on the second album! Stunning sound engineering, virtuoso playing and a perfect example of how progressive rock can be complex bus also listenable. To me it sounds most like Dream Theater and the Liquid Tension Experiment with undertones of Yes.

Good Job!

This is the first time I've been to this site. Naturally, I went to the rock section first. On a hunch I downloaded this... and was fricken blown away!!!! These guys really have talent, and the music itself is skilfully written.

This type of music is really hard to come by now. It's kinda like Kansas with some Yes mixed in. If I had to describe it in a few words, I would say: modern orchestral rock.

I am now a firm believer in independent music. Thank you for an excellent album, and keep up the good work. Seriously... wow...

It's a nice album! It's much better than the first one. Music like this makes me believe independent music can work.

Plenty of people have already reviewed this album, so I'll keep this part brief, tracks 1-10 are fantastic, very like Liquid tension experiment (who I love) and generally a fantastic progressive concept album. Alone I'd give that an 8/10. I rated this a 9 because of the last track. Wow. Completley unexpectedly the album ends on a absolutley bizzare finale, a completley different electronic/acid sound, twisting and jerking harshly between melodies and beats, yet still it somehow manages to fit in with the rest of the album.

What an incredible listen...One beautiful turn after another. This album is a true journey into the unknown.

The Dreamer's Paradox is less of a rock album and more like a live, recorded symphony. It starts out with an Overture, showing the listener what they will be hearing the entire album. Then the music proceeds to tell a story.

JT Bruce is talented, and the album has the best production values of any album I'ver heard on Jamendo. This is retail quality, people. The best song here is the "Dreamer's Overture," mainly because it shows brief glimpses of every main musical theme throughout.

Long, brooding but with hope, and enormously epic. It's a big album, in more ways than one.

Get it. Now.

some great instrumentals, good decision on not letting bad metal singers ruin your stuff.
could be a good source for mixers.. but we're not supposed to alter, transform or build upon this album. oops.

I think best tracks on this album are Life by Proxy and The Dreamer's Overture. Album sounds pretty unique and made me understand the point of progressive metal enought that I went and borrowed couple Dream Theather albums, but after listening those a while I decided that JT Bruce's material was better. I like the cover design it's pretty awesome. I am hobby cartoonist/musician and I like that kind of simple design. Simple vocals are beautiful and guitars are great but JT Bruce could use more real instruments instead of machines.

well worth a listen for anyone who likes the guitar stylings of john petrucci and other similar prog metal artists...excellent production, as well
