Brano Do It Over.
Ottimi. Cantano in inglese con buona pronuncia, gli arrangiamenti sono rotondi e maturi, riescono ad essere semplici senza essere banali.
Una tra le migliori proposte ascoltate di recente.

Due autoproduzioni nel giro di un anno sono cosa rara, e quando lo scarto qualitativo è di queste dimensioni la cosa è davvero stupefacente. Ho sentito il precedente demo degli Amélie, quel "Trabant EP" che in redazione è piaciuto sopratutto per il cuore della proposta. "Be Low" sembra spostare leggermente le coordinate della band, il pop si fa più elegante e raffinato, con qualche spunto chitarristico vicino al post americano...La stessa registrazione ha dietro nomi importanti, Andrea Rovacchi, Andrea Franchi e con la preziosa collaborazione di Paolo Benvegnù. Buon gusto e capacità compositive più che discrete, sfornano altre cinque buone canzoni dalla sensibilità inglese, pulite ed affascinanti nelle atmosfere crepuscolari. Molto belle "Do It Over" e "Slow", i primi brani in tracklist. Una band maturata in fretta, di cui sono certo sentiremo parlare a breve termine e che spero saprà giocarsi al meglio il proprio potenziale.

Privilegio quanto mai gradito, quello di ascoltare in anteprima il nuovo lavoro degli Amelie sul quale ha messo testa e mani Andrea Franchi conosciuto anche come batterista di Paolo Benvegnù (il quale ha amichevolmente presenziato ad una giornata di studio). Io non so cosa altro si voglia aggiungere a questo lavoro che si apre con una versione di "Do it over" degna di una band d'oltremanica nello splendore della propria forma...Passando alle cose serie, la band di Valerio e soci fa un salto di qualità, intuibile dagli ascolti del primo EP e dai loro live set estivi, grazie ad una produzione attenta e preziosa che ha messo mano ad una manciata di già buone canzoni. Le modifiche apportate, le cifre introdotte in fase di produzione, il ricco scambio di idee delle giornate di studio ci consegnano un prodotto maturo e cristallino nella sua capacità di intrecciare melodia, istinto pop e soluzioni ritmiche che non mettono in evidenza le individualità ma sviluppano un'idea di insieme che scorre senza indugi. Convincente fin dalla foto di copertina.

The Guy has a good sounding voice, I like the lyrics, love the piano and music in the background of his voice. Sometimes sounds a bit rought the music and his voice at times. but I like that, make this group stand out from others. Unique you could say. I look forward to any other albums they produce in the future. Well worth a listen this the album.

ps the album and cover gave me the impression it was a woman singer for some reason. And it turns out it was a guy. Wow big suprize. But all in all i enjoyed the album and band as said above.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I downloaded this puppy, because my internet has recently gone to the equivalent of fast dial-up. I was happy with the result, five tracks that showcased one of the best new Jamendo bands. Be Low is a great listen with nice instrumental and lyrical work. Amelie proves itself to be a band worth looking out for in the future.

Let's do It Over reminds me of the band Tears for Fears (Tears for Fears (sometimes abbreviated to TFF or T4F) are a popular English pop band formed in the early 1980s by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, which emerged after the dissolution of their first band, the mod-influenced Graduate. They were initially associated with New Wave and the burgeoning wave of synthesiser bands of the early 1980s, but quickly branched out into mainstream chart success. Tears for Fears have sold more than 22 million albums worldwide (including over 8 million in the USA alone). The song Slow has a sound that reminds me of the Beatles. A 60's feel, sound. Even hints of Pink Floyd.

I think this is a very nice album. Two songs I really like in particular, are: 'Do it over,' and 'Get High.' Those songs sound like anything I could hear on an indie rock station, so very nice guys.

It is not a bad record, but it lacks in few important dimensions. First of all, there is no ‘hit’. I could hardly remember what was the song about after it finished. Only ‘get high’ has a chorus I can sing with, maybe because it has so simple words (perhaps I’m a simple person ;-).
The production is pretty cool, and the instruments are live, so, theoretically, I should like the record. But I don’t. This record simply do not possess energy I would require from music with live instruments. I’m sorry.
The best moments are ‘shake you’ and ‘get high’. I’m a little bit annoyed by too mild piano At the beginning of ‘soon a sine will come’.
I suppose if I would listen to them live, I wouldn’t get very interested.

p.s. the cover is nice, however, still not very exciting. Just like the whole record.
Keep trying and remember it’s just my humble opinion.

Non lo sanno i Vignolesi cosa si sono persi! il 29/3 ottima interpretazione... non me l'aspettavo!
Sembrava di essere in un pub inglese (anche se lo Shangi-la era un pò più pulito)... BRAVI RAGAZZI!
